Construction Crews racing the weather in North Idaho

Sandpoint Idaho and surrounding areas have many construction projects being worked on at the present time.  Of most concern are the open streets and parking lots.  Once grade is wet, or or water standing, a day without rain does not mean that work can automatically continue.  Many times work once completed needs be redone if paving or concrete work not laid down prior to heavy rains and cold temps. View short YouTube video on some Sandpoint Idaho projects crews are rushing to finish. We are often quick to criticize having started these projects so late in the year that the weather even becomes an issue.  This time of year becomes the lesser of two evils in that for a tourist based town such as Sandpoint Idaho, doing this work during summer months means disrupting tourist and locals alike during the summer months. Projects shown in the YouTube video are Cedar & Pine Streets at 5th Avenue.  Making ready for the new 2 way traffic layout for the now one way streets in Sandpoint.  Schweitzer Cutoff and Boyer Avenue intersection and widening.  Triangle Way from Schweitzer Cutoff to Bonner Mall – Widening and sidewalks.  Nice additions to the Sandpoint area when complete.
