“Northern Lights Torch Parade-2013”
Schweitzer Ski Resort puts on many functions and events during the winter months, as well as summer actually. Last night was “Northern Lights”. Beginning at 6pm the skier torch parade started the festivities. Quite impressive to see the line up of skiers, all carrying lit torches, as they follow one another down the mountain single file.

Fireworks 2013
signaling the beginning of the 2013 “Northern Lights” fireworks show. People gathered in the village area, just at the base of the slopes, are then treated to a fantastic display. Colors reflecting off the snow only enhance the show. As found most of the time, the show builds to the finale of multiple large color bursts, cannon explosions and the crowd cheering and yelling with excitement.

The show alone was worth a special drive to the Village. Many people continued with night skiing, or enjoying an

adult Beveridge or two at one of the restaurants found in the village area. The weather continues to cooperate for a great season at Schweitzer Ski Resort. With snow prior to the weekend and clear skies for the Holiday Weekend everyone was in good spirits and looking forward to the skiing ahead.
