Don’t Forget to “Look Back”

Look Back I posted this a while back and revisit it often.  Goals are important.  Moving towards those goals with a plan and constant focus is no less important.  For myself, and I believe most, we can become discouraged with our progress towards that goal or destination.  There lies the importance of taking a ‘Look Back’ from time to time. Whether in reflecting on personal, business, or long term life goals, without looking back to realize the progress we have made, we loose perspective, many times even direction.  To look back is also important for remembering experiences gained along the path to where one is at the present time. Goals are set and reset.  Priorities change.  While the goal is important to keep us moving in a somewhat straight line we need look back to appreciate what has been accomplished while working to achieve any goal.  The lessons, no matter the goal or its size, are learned along the way not at the goal itself. One such lesson was driven home vividly for me on the 2nd day of a sponsored 370 mile bike ride, around the International Selkirk Loop, a couple years ago.  With not even half of the days scheduled 80 miles completed, I topped out on a very steep hill coming up from the Columbia River.  Gorgeous, spectacular views surrounded me. Look Back I did look back from where I had crossed the bridge earlier.  The bridge now barely visible made me realize how far I had come.  My goal had not changed but my progress was made very clear from this hill top where I was able to look ahead towards my goal, as well as where I had come from. Take a moment from time to time and “Look Back”. Experience the Difference Living In North Idaho will make.  Contact me as your local North Idaho Real Estate resource.
